Grid Engineer
Glasgow/Cardiff/London
Up to £55,000 DOE + bonus + package
Leading solar, BESS and wind developer working across construction and asset management and O&M stages.

For the last 40 years, this group has been on a mission to provide affordable renewable energy for everyone, globally. With a pipeline of over 24GW in their portfolio, it's safe to say they are achieving this mission.

Providing a full turnkey service on projects, has allowed them to build this portfolio to over 41GW of operational assets on top of their development pipeline. They also work across a variety of different technologies, including solar, BESS, on and offshore wind & green hydrogen, at both transmission and distribution levels. They also take a realistic view to their pipeline, and as they offer construction services, lots of their connection dates are quickly approaching!

They have all teams in house, from early stage development through to site and construction based teams as well as operations and assets teams. Teams work closely together, with collaboration being a core value for the group. Each team adds value where possible, providing a high standard of knowledge and quality across the board. Their business model is varied, taking some projects through to post construction and operation stages, but also selling some projects at ready to build stage, and even providing EPC works to other projects.

At the heart of the group, they are striving for a renewable future globally. They empower their team, valuing each and every voice and opinion as well as working in a collaborative culture to ensure knowledge is shared.

The role:
The position is a key role in a growing function in house, joining a team of existing grid engineers. You'd be responsible for managing and expanding on the pipeline, working across commercial and technical responsibilities. You'd also have responsibilities for your own projects, leading these projects and making strategic decisions for these.

Your main responsibilities in the team will be:
- Carrying out grid connection feasibility studies for new sites and to provide grid inputs for new activities.
- Identify grid connection agreements as well as securing grid connection agreements.
- Negotiating grid technical requirements and preparations.
- Liaising with DNOS and TSOs as well as ICPs for grid connected projects
- Understanding and staying up to date with grid connection processes, procedures and events.

If you have a background in grid connections, power systems studies, earthing designs or electrical engineering in the renewables space- apply and we can discuss!
