About the Role:

Are you ready to kickstart your career in accountancy? Join us as a Graduate Trainee Accountant at Smith Craven in Doncaster. In this role, you will embark on a journey of learning and development, gaining hands-on experience while working alongside seasoned professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Graduate Trainee Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with audit fieldwork, including profit and loss transaction testing, balance sheet transaction testing, and tracing transactions through primary records.
  • Contributing to the preparation of accounts for small limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Familiarising yourself with various accounting software such as Xero, SAGE, and QuickBooks.
  • Collaborating with team members on larger audit assignments and gaining exposure to tax computations.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Accountancy or a related subject such as Maths, Economics, or Business.
  • A strong desire to pursue further qualifications and become a qualified Accountant.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work methodically.
  • Proficiency in Excel and basic IT software packages.
