Graduate Process Engineer - Salary £25,000 - £40,000 DOE Plus Bonus + Benefits + International Travel
Based: West Sussex
Our client designs and supplies Waste Heat Recovery Units for the Oil, Gas and Energy Industries. We are searching for Graduate Chemical or Mechanical Engineers who have covered THERMAL HEAT TRANSFER MODULES OR CFD WITHIN THEIR DEGREE.
This is a technical and hands on client facing role - You will be involved with the design of Direct Fired Heaters, Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRU), AND will have the opportunity for international travel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Working alongside Sales preparing the technical part of Tenders/process design of Heaters
- Review and compliance with customer specifications, production of corresponding bill of materials to ensure technical integrity of quotations for main equipment used in cost estimate.
- Liaising with clients and sub-vendors before and after submission of tenders
- Explaining the technical superiority and USP's of the clients products to a range of customers
- Preparation of key documents including requisitions of items following Order Award
- Provide formal calculations for Pressure Part Design, Refractory Design and Key Equipment specification and definition of instrument, control and safeguarding functions
- Providing process engineering support to Contracts/Engineering departments including answering client questions, attending HAZOP meetings, incorporating customer comments to above-mentioned documents and assistance with commissioning/troubleshooting
- Leveraging the company’s expert status, undertake high value engineering studies to support clients’ investment decisions for furnace and WHRU revamping and upgrading
Candidate Skills and Experience Required:
- Degree in an Engineering discipline, either Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Minimum 2:1
- Excellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply skills to heat transfer, fluid flow, combustion, pressure part design, automation and control, emissions control, materials selection, and mechanical strength calculations
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with foreign clients and explain complex technical issues in a way that merits their confidence
- Knowledge of HEAT TRANSFER SYSTEMS / STEAM Systems, HRSGs and/or Boilers an advantage
- Commercial mind-set and organised with good attention to detail
- Good level of computer skill including Microsoft programmes
