JOB TITLE: Graduate Marketing Assistant

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

The role of a graduate marketing assistant is an exciting opportunity to dive into their diverse range of events and press opportunities. Working alongside the marketing manager, and wider teams, you will be at the heart of their fast-moving environment, where your ideas and contributions will make a real impact.

Main roles & responsibilities:

Events Planning

  • Work with the sales team to create an events calendar for the year.
  • Research venues, suppliers, and contractors, then negotiate prices and hire.
  • Produce event proposals (including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets).
  • Manage and coordinate suppliers and all event logistics (for example, venue, catering, travel).
  • Ensure the event is promoted through social media and the sales team.
  • Send invites and gather responses for event attendance, along with food requirements.
  • Organise hotels required for staff attendance.
  • Ensure there are facilities for car parking, security and first aid.
  • Liaise with the team to ensure a clear vision and purpose for the event.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure any printed materials are provided.
  • Consider gifts/merchandise required and organise with the Marketing Manager.
  • Organise photos of the event to be taken.
  • Ensure insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are followed.
  • Event evaluation report to inform future activity.

Press Activity

  • Connect with customers to hear their recent successes/news.
  • Write up customer successes that can be used as press releases and on social media.
  • Develop and maintain a database of key contacts.
  • Build relationships with media representatives.
  • Prepare press packs of recent news, logos, and photos.

About you

  • Degree -degree in Marketing, Event Management, English or similar

(please note we will also consider graduates with a non-relevant degree who have proven relevant experience)

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Organised, with high attention to detail.
  • Common sense approach with a helpful 'can do’ attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work under your own initiative and as a part of a team.
  • Interest in marketing or events beyond study.
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Able to demonstrate you have worked/volunteered while studying/during breaks
  • Knowledge of Adobe Cloud is advantageous.
  • Willing to travel. Please note there are several events a year you will need to attend as part of the team.
  • Holds the relevant right to work within the UK.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday to Thursday 09:00 - 17:30 &Friday 9:00 - 17:00. 1 hour lunch. Following probation - option available for hybrid working.

SALARY: Up to £25,000

HOLIDAY/BENEFITS: 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, growing with each year of service up to 25 days. Opportunity to attend some exciting music events/exhibitions - for example Glastonbury to name but a few. Pension.
