If you’re a recent graduate, sports coach or have had recent school-based experience, and you’re hoping for more flexible working hours, listen up! We have an array of Secondary Schools across Burton Upon Trent that are looking for Cover Supervisors, these roles will be to start ASAP and throughout the rest of the year!

  • A cover supervisor’s primary role is to supervise pupils in the absence of their normal teacher, they will deliver high quality, pre-planned lessons to groups of 11-18 year old students.
  • A cover supervisor doesn’t need to prepare any work, as this is pre-planned by the classroom teacher, you will be expected to deliver the work to students, manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain focused on the work set and provide feedback to relevant people within schools.

To be a successful Cover Supervisor we look for experience of 20 days or more working with children and/or young people. This role is a great steppingstone to get into a career in teaching. Ideally you will hold a degree, but this isn’t a necessity.

The Role: Cover Supervisor

A successful Cover supervisor will work with our secondary schools delivering pre-planned lessons to groups of students ages 11- 18.

Any work will be pre-planned by the class teacher or another within the school. As a cover supervisor, you will deliver this to the students whilst managing their behaviour and providing feedback to any relevant members of staff.

To be successful in this role we look for a graduate who has at least 20 days or more of experience working with children and or young people. This is a great way to start your career in teaching.

  • Football Coaching
  • Sports coaching
  • Volunteering
  • Placements
  • Work experience
  • Dance teachers

There are both part and full times positions available. Pay will be dependent on references and experience.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
