Science Technician required January for a full-time position

Empowering Learning are recruiting a Senior Science Technician for an outstanding school in an East London borough. This is to start ASAP.

We are searching for a Senior Science Technician on a full time basis.

The school is outstanding with a fantastic department with students achieving above average results. They are looking to interview in the new year.

Science Technician responsibilities:

  • To be based in the preparation rooms and be available for support of teaching staff throughout the day during lesson time
  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of the laboratories
  • Ensuring you are following Health and Safety and Security policies of the department
  • To provide appropriate, functional apparatus, chemicals etc for practical work as instructed by the senior technicians or teachers
  • To maintain sufficient stocks of practical materials and stationery
  • To organise, store and check the condition of chemicals and equipment
  • Ensure that spillages and breakages are dealt with immediately and safely
  • To test experimental procedures when requested
  • To assist teachers and students during practical lessons when required
  • To ensure laboratories are safe and secure at the end of the day
  • To participate fully and positively in staff development opportunities
