We are exclusively tasked with recruiting for a Global Head of Compliance role on behalf of our client. This presents a remarkable opportunity to join a firm renowned for its stellar reputation both domestically and internationally.

Location: UK / Guernsey / Jersey / Isle of Man

Role Overview:
As the Global Head of Compliance, your overarching responsibility will be to oversee compliance frameworks across all jurisdictions within the group. You will serve as the primary authority and escalation point for all compliance matters, spearheading the compliance strategy for the organisation. Fostering a culture of positive compliance and awareness of regulatory and financial crime risks will be pivotal, aiding the business in achieving its strategic, financial, and operational objectives in alignment with local regulatory and legal frameworks. Your role is paramount in safeguarding the company’s reputation and integrity within legal and regulatory parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage global compliance operations.
  • Collaborate with Group Legal to develop and maintain regulatory and risk frameworks, controls, policies, and procedures, ensuring effective decision-making processes.
  • Provide direction, advice, and guidance to Compliance Teams, Senior Management, and the wider business on compliance and risk obligations, keeping abreast of regulatory changes.
  • Approve the assessment and acceptance of new business.
  • Anticipate, research, and monitor developments in the financial services regulatory environment, ensuring compliance and responsiveness.
  • Assist in resolving contentious matters including disputes and complaints ethically.
  • Participate in special projects such as remediation workstreams, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
  • Oversee and support Compliance teams in developing and implementing jurisdiction-specific policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reports for the Board, Senior Management, and regulatory bodies on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance governance, risk, compliance, and data protection awareness.
  • Act as the primary contact for governance, risk, compliance, and data protection matters internally and externally.

Successful Candidate Profile:

  • A proven track record of at least 10 years in governance, risk management, compliance, and data protection, preferably within a global organization.
  • Profound knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism, financial crimes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations and devise practical solutions.
  • Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks, compliance programs, and risk management strategies.
  • Experience in risk and compliance within financial or professional services sectors.
