Our work includes advising a company on a cross-border merger, structuring the initial public offering of a subsidiary, refinancing an outstanding bond and more. We are looking for a skilled and motivated associate to join our Structured Equity Group within Investment Banking in London.

STRUCTURED EQUITY GROUP
The Structured Equity Group is part of Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking segment and originates, structures and executes a broad range of strategic equity and equity derivative transactions on a principal basis. Transactions include strategic stake acquisitions as well as hedging, financing and monetization of equity stakes. The Team works closely with regional and sector Investment Banking teams, other Financing Group product teams and the FICC and Equities teams on a daily basis.
The group is aligned by region and covers corporate, sovereign and family office clients around the world providing solutions for a number of parameters, including mitigating or increasing share price exposure, raising proceeds against an equity stake, managing public disclosure and accounting implications. The role involves exposure to a variety of teams, sectors and products and offers an excellent opportunity for comprehensive and varied training.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Originating, structuring, pitching and executing structured equity derivatives
  • Assist in the pricing of various derivative structures working with GS pricing tools and collaborate with the trading desk
  • Client coverage and driving client dialogue through high quality content production and idea generation based on market conditions and preparing pitch-books
  • Full involvement in devising transaction terms, creating marketing materials, obtaining internal approvals, preparing and negotiating deal documentation, pricing, execution of deals and coordinating settlements
  • Assist in the preparation of transaction documentation and liaising with legal counsel
  • Targeting of new opportunities and business development

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for candidates with 2 - 5 years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, a solid work ethic, high motivation levels as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Acting as a conduit between Investment Banking and Global Markets the role is suitable for candidates with a passion for capital markets as well as the strategic decision making component of corporate finance. The ideal candidate is able to deliver a structured equity transaction from sourcing to completion, i.e. preparing of pitch materials, pricing the transaction with trading, preparing transaction documentation with legal counsel and negotiating with the client, execution and settlement of the transaction.
