JA1334 – Generator Engineer – Depot
Location – Uxbridge
Type – Permanent – 40 hours.
Salary - Upto £33K DOE

Overview:

We are currently recruiting for a Depot based Generator Engineer to join our client’s hire business. The successful candidate will support the smooth and efficient day to day running of the depot engineering operation. The position required a good level of professional communication both internally with colleagues and customers alike.

You are required to complete daily tasks in accordance with the hire demands set by the front office. The day-to-day operations consist mainly of T&R with the addition of offline maintenance when skill set is available or suitable.

Responsibilities:

  • You must ensure you have the correct PPE and it is fit for purpose.
  • Report all accidents, spills & near misses accurately and in a timely manner to the line manager using the correct reporting method.
  • Carry out any checks assigned to you that are stored in the WPSR.
  • Responsible for Test and Run in the depot and assist with the offline maintenance.
  • Support the stores stocking levels and advise of low levels when consuming the parts.
  • Ensure all company property is looked after and in calibration date where appropriate;
  • (Multi-meter, Clamp meter, RCD tester, Insulation resistance tester)
  • Aim to complete your jobs per week target in line with KPI’s.
  • Get involved in depot toolbox talks and keep up to date with training that will benefit.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure all environmental waste generated is disposed of in the correct bins and tanks.
  • Ensure your personal and company tools are used correctly and looked after.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as defined by your line manager.

Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • NVQ L3 or City and Guilds equivalent in electrical and/or mechanical engineering or equivalent in power generator engineering/similar industry experience.
  • Product knowledge and experience of assessing and fault finding on Power Generation equipment.
  • Full driving licence
  • Forklift truck licence (can be trained)
  • Willingness to travel to various sites and flexibility on daily working hours.
  • Always look to achieve the objectives that have been set.
  • Delivery of KPIs, weekly targets against plan (timing, quality & standards)

Skills Required:

  • Basic IT computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate confidently in a professional manner.
  • To liaise and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Self-motivated and positive with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to carry out lone working and work as part a team.
