An opportunity for an accomplished General Manager to join and established food supplier.

The successful General Manager will take the lead and have primary accountability for maximising sales and profit targets, as well as optimising costs, processes and efficiencies and employee engagement to enable the delivery of the depot's business targets.

This role will give you the opportunity to manage all aspects of the depot in line with the agreed business plan.

They pride themselves on providing Service Excellence for their customers, so they require a General Manager who will champion the brand, vision and values, all the while providing inspirational and motivational leadership for the depot.

Key accountabilities of a General Manager:

  • Delivering successful revenue, costs and profit targets
  • Managing the sales strategy across field and telesales teams.
  • Own large customer relationships and generate increased sales
  • Leading and motivating the senior depot team in a positive, motivational and structured way
  • Drive the depot culture
  • Manage all aspects of purchasing, stock management, and control to achieve agreed targets
  • Manage and deliver on all health and safety, site safety, transport compliance, food safety, environmental and security objectives and seek to make continual improvements to core standards, processes and practices

They require an inspirational and experienced senior manager, with strong leadership skills. The successful General Manager will have experience of:

  • Experience of profit and loss accountability
  • Experience of operating at a senior level within a complex and commercially led company
  • Evidence of driving change management
  • Experience in managing budgets and costs
  • Experience in continuous improvement
  • Experience in delivering exceptional service to benefit their customers

On offer is a basic salary of £70 - £90,000, car allowance, a very competitive bonus scheme, private healthcare, pension scheme and 25 days annual leave.
