This is a fantastic General Manager role within a local authority who have invested and developed their leisure offering substantially in recent years. There are excellent career and personal development paths available plus the opportunity to support other facilities within the local area.

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially focused General Manager to drive performance of a large and complex leisure centre in the Waterloo area. This leisure business has a high member usage with an extensive wet side and needs a very organised and structured General Manager who will be passionate about service delivery through a highly engaged team.

Ideally you will have a background that involves man-management and financial accountability. You must be hands on with a proven track record in delivery of business and social objectives and really understand how to maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement, review and report on the Centre’s Business plan and influence your team to ensure all objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure the centre maximises its short, medium and long term profitability.
  • In conjunction with head office implement effective recruitment, people management, development, retention and succession planning strategies for the centre
  • Ensure the centre’s standards of performance are maintained through regular reviews and audits.
  • Implement, maintain and manage an effective system of controls throughout the centre covering both financial and non-financial aspects of the business.
  • Management, compliance, monitoring, reporting and communication of financial and physical resources and all administrative functions.
  • Ensure the centre fully complies with all relevant legislation i.e Health and Safety and best practice is shared throughout your departments.
  • Ensure the Customer and Client Relationship Management processes and procedures are fully implemented in the centre
