General Foreperson

Role: General Foreperson / GF

Company: Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractor

Location: Southampton

Day rate: £300 - £350 CIS

Project: Highways scheme

Randstad are currently looking for General Foreperson / GF to work with a Civil Engineering Contractor based in Southampton on a highways scheme.

Responsibilities:

• Leading and coordinating on-site construction activities to ensure project milestones are met.
• Managing and motivating a team of skilled workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Implementing and enforcing strict safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
• Monitoring project progress and addressing any issues or delays promptly.
• Collaborating with project managers and engineers to optimise construction processes and resolve technical challenges.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Foreperson or similar leadership role in civil engineering construction.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate your team.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• A proactive approach to project management, with a focus on efficiency and quality.
