We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills English Tutor to join our educational team within offender learning across two sites in SW London. This role is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact on learners’ lives, aiding their personal development and helping them contribute positively to their communities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver inspiring lessons to raise learners’ expectations and aspirations, encouraging them to take ownership of their learning.
  • Tailor both accredited and non-accredited programmes to the needs and interests of the learners.
  • Develop personalised learning plans that equip learners with essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours for positive progression.
  • Create an engaging and supportive learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth.
  • Assess learners’ progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance to aid their development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 9 to 4, A* to C, or equivalent).
  • Qualification in the specialist subject area of Functional Skills English.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching within the subject specialism.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification or equivalent.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
