What’s the opportunity?

We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a First-Line Manager to join our Nottingham site within the Stores (Raw Ingredients) Department.

In this role, you will have full responsibility for a department and team whilst driving a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. The role requires a consistent, challenging, and focused drive toward performance improvements. You will be required to understand and communicate the status of performance and achievements of your department, whilst maintaining continuous improvement.

What will you be doing?

  • Handling the day-to-day management of our Stores and Intake team, ensuring all 21 team members are well-trained and supported.
  • Making sure everyone stays safe by ensuring full compliance with health and safety procedures.
  • Keeping in touch with both our internal team and external partners to ensure smooth operations.
  • Producing and analysing reports to guide our daily, monthly, and long-term goals, making sure we're always moving forward.
  • Creating and maintaining visual systems to help us track progress and meet our targets.
  • Promoting a culture of excellence by championing Good Manufacturing Practice to ensure top-notch quality in everything we do.
  • Sharing important insights and information with the wider team, helping us all stay informed and on track.
  • Making sure our suppliers and raw materials are managed efficiently, in line with our business vendor management systems.
  • Translating our goals into clear objectives for individuals and teams, making sure we all work together to achieve them.
  • Facilitating and monitoring performance reviews to help everyone grow and develop in their roles.

What are 'must haves’ from you?

  • A background in the food manufacturing environment.
  • Can demonstrate experience in a leadership role.
  • You understand manufacturing best practices and have experience in implementing.
  • Problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Continuous Improvement Techniques.
  • Food Hygiene and Food Safety qualification - HACCP- minimum Level 3 - ability to demonstrate an understanding of hazard analysis & food safety controls.
  • Audit skills.
  • Able to demonstrate financial and technical audit processes.
  • Practical awareness of the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle.

What would be ideal?

  • Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH / IOSH)
  • TACCP & VACCP - Practical awareness of threat & vulnerability risks.
  • Experience with SAP / System 21 systems (or equivalent)
