Are you a native French speaker keen to support students to develop their French language skills?
Broadway Academy Trust is rated 'Good' by Ofsted (2022), and we are constantly striving for excellence.
The Department
Broadway Academy believes that learning a language opens doors to new cultures and countries, as well as teaching self-awareness, humility and respect. Our Modern Foreign Languages department has well-equipped classrooms and a dedicated space for one-to-one and small-group tuition. All students are taught French from year 7 to year 9, developing the basic skills of language learning. In year 9, pupils choose whether to continue with French through to GCSE. We have been successful in retaining high numbers of students in Year 10 and Year 11. Our results have also been excellent, with many students exceeding their national targets. We provide many opportunities for students to experience languages and life beyond the curriculum, such as links with local universities and our partner school, Film days, National Competitions, and a residential trip to France.
The Role
We are looking for a French native speaker who enjoys working with young people and is able to bring French language and culture to life for our students. You will have the ability to work successfully with individual students and small groups, taking them out of class to develop oracy, fluency and cultural awareness. You must have a valid passport and the right to work in the UK
Why you should join us
You will get a real opportunity to make a difference within a school which encourages students and staff to be aspirational. We have an innovative partnership with a well-regarded school in the independent sector. Staff development is a priority for all, and we provide structured CPD.
Staff wellbeing is a priority, and the Trust provides an employee assistance programme. If you are keen to work in a successful and growing academy trust which encourages staff to aim high in their own careers, this could be a great opportunity for you.
