Fractional Head of Finance | Rapid-Growth Online Marketplace | 2-3 days per week

Harmonic are delighted to be working exclusively with an innovative and ambitious Online Marketplace start-up who are on the search for a Fractional Head of Finance who can support them through an exciting period in their growth.

The Client

Their culture is defined by a friendly, sociable and dynamic atmosphere. They are based in modern offices within Central London and are happy to accommodate a hybrid working policy of 1 day in the office minimum. This is a brand new position which has come about through growth, the contract will be a minimum of 6 months with the high likelihood of extending, but also potentially becoming full-time permanent if the successful candidate impresses.

The business has previously received fundraising and has an impressive leadership team who set the fantastic culture of the organisation. With a Turnover of circa £10-15m, our client is hoping to continue on their growth trajectory and aim for international expansion in the future.

The Role

This role will report directly into the CEO as well as the CFO. You will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the finance function and supporting with the financial strategy. This is a broad finance role covering FP&A, strategic analysis and financial control that will suit an individual who thrives working in a dynamic start-up environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth running of the finance function
• Successfully manage and develop a team of 3; Finance Manager, Accountant and Credit Controller
• Oversee cashflow management and financial reporting
• Prepare budgets and forecasts including insightful analysis
• Own the FP&A capabilities including scenario planning and modelling
• Support on fundraising and R&D tax credits
• Ad-hoc duties supporting the Senior Leadership Team on Operations/Data/BI

Essential Experience

• Qualified Accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA)
• Previous experience in a start-up/scale-up environment.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Bonus Experience

• Experience with online marketplace/platform or Ecommerce

Day Rate: £450-£500/day (Outside IR35)

Length of Contract: 6 months (potential temp to perm and extension)
