Foreman

Foreman - Required for our client to join their specialist Civil Engineering contracting business. The General Foreman will be working on prestigious projects around Portsmouth. The company that the General Foreman will be working for are a well-established Civil Engineering contractor specialising in Costal defence.

Foreman Position Overview

• Ensure that all site personnel and visitors are wearing the correct PPE in accordance with the site rules and specific risk assessments.
• Carry out weekly HSE inspection checklist and create a safe working environment and maintain standards of H & S, Environment and quality.
• Carry out morning briefings and promote health, safety and environment and quality culture
• Supervises all site operatives, dealing with performance and training needs. Ensuring workforce conduct, site tidiness, safeguards the public image of our business.
• Deliver toolbox talks in line with company briefings and site needs to all personnel.
• Supervises the workmanship and quality of the work.
• Complete a site daily diary and complete allocation sheets.
• Completes plant requisition and ensures hired plant & equipment are received and returned in good condition. Off hiring all non-essential plant, tools and sub-contractors as soon as requirement is over.
• Manage the use of materials on site including;
• Raise any design and buildability concerns to the attention of engineer/manager.
• Provide input into method statements and risk assessments.

Foreman Position Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 Site Supervisor
• Full driving licence
• Supervisor CSCS card, Site Safety Plus - SSSTS certificate or SMSTS certificate
• First Aid at Work Certificate, Fire Warden, CPCS Lift Supervisor (desirable) and Temporary Works Supervisor
• Proven experience of working within the Construction Industry at a supervisory level
• Up to date knowledge of job-related health & safety
• Ability to understand construction drawings and programmes
• Good time management.
