The Company

The Royal Trinity Hospice is the oldest hospice in the UK with over 100 years of experience providing compassionate palliative care. Our charity shops are on a mission to become ‘London‘s answer to sustainable fashion’, whilst raising funds to ensure the Hospice can deliver the best possible service to people with life-limiting conditions.

We are now looking for a Retail Assistant to join our charity shop teams in London with flexible hours and locations as part of a bank of staff.

This is the ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with experience working or volunteering with the public and a passion for sustainability and fashion to join our exceptional charity.

You will play a key role in increasing vital hospice funding by supporting our retail arm whilst working safely in the knowledge that your efforts are making a meaningful difference to people in need of care.

The Role

As a Retail Assistant, you will provide excellent service to customers at our charity shops across London.

Supporting the Manager and Assistant Manager, you will maximise sales and profitability, assisting with the day-to-day running of the shop.

You will generate stock through contact with donors, sell goods to customers and maintain a high standard of display, presentation and cleanliness throughout the shop.

Additionally, you will:

- Generate donations from the public
- Operate the cash register and assist with cashing up and reconciling the day’s takings
- Generate Gift Aid conversions from people donating goods

About You

To be considered as a Retail Assistant, you will need:

- Paid or voluntary experience in a fast-paced customer-focused environment
- Experience dealing with the public face-to-face and over the telephone
- A passion for fashion and sustainability
