Fitter / Turner required for a leading supplier to the offshore oil and gas industry, specializing in providing high-quality components and equipment. The ideal candidate will be based within a commutable distance of their site in St Helens and preferably be time served.

Fitter / Turner Position Overview

  • Operate manual and computer-controlled machinery, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to manufacture components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Set up and adjust machines to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of the finished product.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine appropriate machining processes and sequences.
  • Perform precision machining operations, including turning, milling, drilling, boring, and threading, to fabricate components to tight tolerances.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Fitter / Turner Position Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Fitter/Turner or similar role in a manufacturing environment,
  • Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.

Fitter / Turner Position Remuneration

  • Salary dependent on experience
