An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic Financial Reporting Accountant to join a supportive and high performing team of qualified and part-qualified accountants. This is a newly created role with responsibilities spanning across all areas of the accounting and financial reporting process. The successful candidate will be working in a modern office located in Salford, with a competitive salary range of £45,000 - £50,000. What you'll do:


As our client's new Financial Reporting Accountant, you will play an integral role within their dynamic team. Your day-to-day activities will involve a wide range of tasks from coordinating annual audits to preparing budgets for the Group. You will become proficient in using their Group consolidation software, assisting in implementing new IFRSs and other relevant reporting standards. Your role will also include preparing accounting papers for new business lines and client contracts, as well as supporting compliance audits. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive environment.

  • Assist with the coordination of the annual audit and financial statement preparation process for the Group and its subsidiaries
  • Liaise with external auditors and assist in preparation and review of statutory returns
  • Assist with the implementation of new IFRSs and other reporting standards applicable to the Group, including non-financial measures such as climate reporting
  • Prepare accounting papers for new business lines & client contracts
  • Involve in ad-hoc financial reporting and financial systems projects, such as identifying & implementing improvements in reporting and consolidation processes
  • Review general ledger account reconciliations and monitor/ challenge outcomes
  • Prepare and post consolidation adjustments
  • Assist with the coordination and preparation of the budget for the Group

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Financial Reporting Accountant position is a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA). You will bring to the role your proven experience in financial accounting and a keen interest in technical accounting. Your advanced Excel skills will be essential for this role, along with your strong communication abilities. You are someone who thrives under pressure, meeting strict deadlines without compromising on the quality of work. A proactive approach, willingness to learn and take responsibility are key attributes that you possess.

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA) or equivalent qualification
  • Proven relevant financial accounting experience within an accountancy practice
  • Advanced level proficiency in Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines
