Meraki Talent are working with a leading investment bank within the Glasgow market, who are looking to appoint a Financial Reporting professional for a permanent opportunity.

The Financial Reporting Senior Accountant in the Fund Accounting Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely production of financial statements for various fund types, including Investment Trusts, UK Open Ended Investment Companies, Property Authorised Investment Funds, Unit Trusts, UK-administered Luxembourg SICAVs, and life & pension funds. This role involves overseeing the preparation of interim and year-end financial statements, managing the end-to-end financial reporting process, and liaising with auditors and other operational departments. The incumbent will also be responsible for various reporting tasks, including but not limited to IFRS10 reporting, distribution rates, closed funds, revenue forecasting, and compliance reporting.

Key Duties will include;
  • Meet set client KPIs and service delivery commitments.
  • Review year-end and half-year financial accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with auditors and other operational departments to address any queries or concerns.
  • Review monthly board papers (management accounts) for Investment Trust clients.
  • Oversee reporting activities such as IFRS10 reporting, distribution rates, closed funds balance sheets, revenue forecasts, and performance and management fees.
  • Review net asset values( NAVs)
  • Review returns
  • Provide oversight of receipts and payments and maintain accounting records.
  • Ensure timely completion of internal team management information.
  • Plan and prepare interim and final financial statements
  
As part of this role you will collaborate closely with Fund Accounting and Middle Office teams to ensure the integrity of fund data and manage responses to clients, auditors, trustees, custodians, and other internal departments.  Additionally, you will ensure an understanding and compliance with client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and internal delivery deadlines.
  
Applicants must have a first class technical experience in the preparation of statutory accounts and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements.  Additionally, knowledge of UK / Lux GAAP, IRFS and SORP for authorised funds would be preferred.  Our client will consider those who are ACCA qualified, or working towards this qualification.
