My client is one of the world’s largest and oldest law firms with a history stretching back to the 19th century. They are now a leading global law firm with offices in key business centres across the Americas, Asia and Europe. The firm employs approximately 2000 lawyers. Their London office has a headcount of circa 800 and offices in the City.

They are now looking to hire a Financial / Management Accountant. This is a broad role incorporating statutory accounts/audit, reporting and management accounts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly financial reports to UK and global requirements and deadlines.
  • Undertake an ongoing analysis and maintenance of General Ledger accounts, balance-sheet and control account reconciliations, reporting requirements, monitoring and correcting posting errors.
  • Responsible for the production of the firm Pension Scheme accounts for audit.
  • Year-end consolidated LLP statutory financial statements / prepare for audit.
  • Provide documentation / templates for use in future years.
  • Responsible for London office management accounts month end including calculation of accruals and prepayments, journal adjustments, reconciliation of management accounts, variance analysis and explanation to stakeholders, allocations and corrections.
  • Assistance with the preparation, validation and expensing monthly payroll data into general ledger. Reconciliation of London payroll control accounts and liaison with HR regarding manual payments and their subsequent treatment.
  • Supervision of multi-currency cash-flow forecasts and input into Treasury Management System (TM5). Responding to feedback from Global Head of Treasury and providing assistance on Treasury commitments.
  • Supervision of fixed asset financial information in line with accounting policies. Calculation and import of depreciation journals, including EMEA and Global equipment usage fee recharge.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Experience of working in both a partnership and non-partnership environment
  • Experience of Statutory accounts and Pension scheme accounts
  • Partnership Accounts, preferably within a Limited Liability Partnership.
  • Knowledge of a multi-currency accounting package, e.g. Elite or Aderant.
  • Knowledge of Excel.
