Partner Financial are working with a global, industry leading professional services company. Reporting to the CFO. you will be responsible for producing financial and statutory information and ensuring that best practice is used across the business. Supporting the growth of the company, this position will foster continuous improvement, automation and will ensure that relevant controls are in place across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deputising for the CFO when required and working closely with them to review and improve operational finance processes and reporting cycles.
  • Providing comprehensive financial updates to senior management, the Board and others as required.
  • Supporting IT & Finance teams with the implementation of new systems, ensuring alignment and clear communication across departments.
  • Ensuring periodic tax filings are prepared and filed within the required timelines, as well as liaising with internal tax teams and tax advisors.
  • Working with the auditors and finance team to lead an efficient and timely year end audit process.
  • Overseeing and supporting a small team managing the month and quarter close processes, ensuring this is completed in a timely manner with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Reviewing and maintaining internal control processes to ensure that financial decisions are made with an understanding of their implications.
  • Managing the payroll process and all other staff related transactions.
  • Providing suggestions for improvements to finance practice procedures for the company and implement as required, ensuring all processes are documented.

The ideal candidate:

  • A Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a controllership position with demonstrated leadership skills
  • A natural team player with well-developed interpersonal/communication skills, able to promote good team working and promote a culture of transparency
  • Experience of Sage 50 is desirable
  • Previous experience with system implementations would be advantageous
  • Strong excel skills are essential
  • An inquisitive 'can-do’ mind-set that is numerically strong and continuously challenges and seeks process improvement.
