Due to a very exciting stage of growth and development, Benjamin Edwards are recruiting for a qualified Financial Controller for an award-winning business. As the Financial Controller you will support the senior finance leadership team in all areas of financial management. You’ll play a key part in the day-to-day function of the finance team.
The role of the Financial Controller
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of the UK management accounts, including board pack with analysis of variances
- Manage and oversee the work produced by the accounts team
- Identifying and driving areas of continuous improvement and efficiency with a focus on the optimum use of systems and technology
- Submit quarterly VAT returns and provide guidance on VAT matters across the organisation
- Preparation of information to complete annual compliance, i.e., statutory accounts, tax computations
- Preparation of budgets and quarterly forecasts, and cash flows
- Review of weekly payment runs
- Ownership of the finance system
- Managing and mentoring 3 direct reports
- Preparation of product margin analysis and evaluation
- Development of costing models leading to improved operational performance and increased profitability
- Support stock control as well as stock management policies and procedures and physical stock checks
The ideal candidate for the role of Financial Controller
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Broad all-round experience, including transactional finance, team management, VAT, systems
- Strong commercial acumen
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
