Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking for that next step into a Financial Controller role?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Management Accountant/Financial Controller to join our client in Northampton.

Ideally, you'll have a strong background in Finance processes, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to manage customer/supplier relationships whilst ensuring accurate and timely reports. As Senior Management Accountant, you will oversee the Finance function, optimising cash flow, and contributing to the overall financial health of the business.

Key Responsibilities as Senior Management Accountant will be:

  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reconciling Quarterly VAT Returns
  • Reconciling Monthly Payroll Reports
  • Reconciling Intercompany Balance
  • People management - Junior Management Accountant, Purchase and Sales Ledger Team.
  • Production and posting of key journals including accruals, prepayments, accrued and deferred income.
  • Develop robust processes and controls to ensure risks are managed.
  • Production of accurate monthly Management Accounts.
  • Year-end statutory audit process.
  • Ad hoc projects
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register
  • Manage budgets, cashflow and forecasts.
  • Manage month end for the group, including preparation for payments.
  • Financial Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

What skills and Experience are we looking for?

  • Qualified accountant ACCA/CIMA/ACA
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
