We are seeking a fully qualified Financial Controller to join a growing team and play a key role in the team leadership and financial management. Ideally, we would be looking for 5 years post qualification.
Assisting the Chief Financial Officer in achieving key financial objectives of the business. This will include driving the company’s financial planning through accurate cashflow management and risk mitigation strategies, the budgetary process, providing key financial data to support business development decisions on a timely and accurate basis.
As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting and compliance. You will work closely with the CFO and key stakeholders to drive financial performance and support the company's ambitious growth objectives.
DAY TO DAY:
Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department, providing direction for management accounts, budgeting, and financial reporting functions.
Help to develop and implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company guidelines.
Oversee and improve board pack preparation, present accurate and timely financial and non-financial information reports and analysis to CFO and where appropriate to the Senior Management and stakeholders.
Assisting in leading the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to develop comprehensive financial plans and performance metrics which may also include an insight in to the US and Australian budget process.
Monitor and analyse financial performance against budget, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement and strategic opportunities.
Manage complex cash flows, working capital and liquidity to support operational needs and capital investment initiatives across numerous Funds and circa 25-30 entities.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and reporting obligations to include liaising with auditors and external tax advisors as appropriate to ensure timely and accurate filings in accordance with statutory
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making, investment evaluations, and business planning initiatives.
Stay informed of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes impacting the renewable energy sector, and incorporate relevant insights into financial strategies and operations.
Mentor and develop finance team members, overseeing a team of currently 5 plus supporting additional company team members on an ad-hoc basis as required.
Fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE:
Ideally ACCA, ACA) Finance and a minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification
Accountancy Practice experience is desirable though not essential
Strong background in financial reporting
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret accounting principles and financial analysis
Accomplished leadership skills, supporting and mentoring in the role
Good understanding of regulatory requirements
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate
