Financial Controller

• Annual Salary: Up to £65,000 (dependent on experience)
• Location: Canterbury
• Job Type: 6-month Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our logistics company based in Canterbury for a 6-month fixed term contract. The ideal candidate will be available to start at short notice and bring a wealth of experience to oversee our financial operations. With a salary of up to £65,000 per annum, we are looking for a dedicated professional who can contribute to our financial efficiency and compliance.

• Oversee the operations of the finance department, including the design of an organisational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
• Manage all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly and year-end close processes.
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
• Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organisation.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new strategies and regulatory action.

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller.
• Strong technical accounting skills with a thorough understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities.
• Proficient in the use of finance software and advanced Excel skills.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Must be available to start at short notice.
