The team of skilled legal professionals is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for their clients, guiding them through complex legal processes with clarity, expertise, and compassion.

The Opportunity: As our Financial Controller, you'll be number 1 in finance and at the heart of the financial operations, driving performance and ensuring the smooth functioning of the finance department. This hands-on role involves managing a team of four dedicated professionals, including a Finance Business Partner, and will see you taking ownership of critical tasks such as month-end accounting, management accounts, cash-flow and P&L management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end accounting process with precision and efficiency.
• Oversee the preparation of accurate management accounts, providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Take ownership of the P&L, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial regulations.
• Drive budgeting and forecasting activities, collaborating closely with senior leadership and private equity investors to achieve financial targets.
• Work closely with the CEO and private equity investors to manage cash flow effectively and drive financial performance.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role, ideally within the professional services sector.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Solid understanding of financial principles and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Advanced proficiency in financial software and MS Excel.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

Location and Benefits: This role is based on-site at the Derby office, located in Pride Park.
