Financial Controller

• Annual Salary: £75k plus £6k car allowance
• Location: Dunstable
• Job Type: Full-time (Hybrid - 4 days in office, 1 day at home)
• Additional Benefits: 15% annual bonus

We are looking for a Financial Controller to act as the lead financial business partner within our clients organisation. This pivotal role involves strategic financial guidance and analysis to support decision-making processes, overseeing financial planning and budgeting, managing financial risks, and driving profitability and sustainable growth. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and implement best practices in financial management.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s processes, products, and quality procedures.
• Communicate effectively in English, demonstrate high numeracy, and be IT literate.
• Report and explain financial results using standard systems and data.
• Act as a co-pilot and business partner to the site General Manager and wider leadership team.
• Take ownership of key financial statements and forecasts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Lead the annual budget process, 3-year plan, and customer budgets and cost savings plans.
• Manage the month-end close process, including analysis, review, and sign-off of financial results.
• Line manage and develop the site Management Accountant.
• Prepare and present financial statements and KPIs for internal reviews and senior management.
• Oversee weekly management P&L reporting and analysis.
• Review and approve payment runs, payroll proposals, and regulatory reporting.
• Lead forecasting, capital expenditure planning, and standard costing processes.
• Ensure compliance with Internal Control Systems and lead external and internal audits.

• A relevant accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA) or qualified by experience (QBE).
• Experience with SAP is strongly desired.
• Finance team experience in a manufacturing environment, FMCG preferred.
