Financial Controller

Oversee the finance function for multiple SME companies, and manage a team of 3 (part time)

Be the first point of contact with the external accountants, HMRC and other external governing bodies. Looking after the day to day running of the finance function as a whole.

  • Producing and overseeing monthly management accounts across multiple companies
  • Create and report on, month end board packs for shareholders.
  • Monitor various companies’ income and expenditure.
  • Liaise and advise with stakeholders re VAT/CIS/HMRC/FCA/finance queries.
  • Subcontractor checks - including CIS deductions & CITB returns.
  • Weekly Subcontractor payments - ensuring projects are within budget.
  • Cash flow analysis
  • Oversee credit control function
  • Oversee X 2 accounts assistants
  • Oversee FCA reporting
  • PAYE/NI / P11D / VAT reports and payments
  • Payments, and payments authorization
  • Monthly Payroll, and year ends - Sage
  • Accounts year ends - Sage
  • Monitor overheads and make savings/tack costs such as insurance and utilities. Including negotiating new contracts.
  • Other ad hoc duties

Previous experience with the construction or insurance industry advantageous.

  • Qualified or QBE
  • Min 3 years in similar role -
  • Can do attitude, enjoys a varied role.

Working hours - 9am - 5pm Mon - Thurs 9am - 3pm Friday (negotiable may consider less hours for right person)

Salary range - DOE - £38k - £45k

Workplace pension, increased holiday entitlement with length of service, free parking
