Financial Controller

Robert Half are partnering with a rapidly expanding manufacturing business (£140M t/o) as they look to appoint a new Financial Controller. We are seeking an ambitious Qualified Accountant, with a background in accounting principles, strong knowledge of UK taxation and filing requirements and skilled in Internal Controls.

Reporting to the Finance Director, as the Finance Controller you will play a key role in managing the finance reporting and administrative duties for the business. With the support of a dedicated team the Financial Controller will have responsibility for all statutory financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury management and transactional processing.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for the group, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
• Implement and monitor internal controls related to financial reporting, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices.
• Stay abreast of emerging accounting standards and provide guidance on their potential impact, ensuring compliance and effective communication across the organisation.
• Develop and implement tax strategies, collaborating with tax advisors, and ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
• Manage the company's cash flow, optimise liquidity, and oversee debt and investment activities to support the overall financial health of the organisation.
• Manage the relationship with external auditors, coordinating audit activities, and addressing inquiries to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.

Experience required:

• A recognised accountancy qualification - ACA or ACCA
• Proven experience in financial reporting, tax management
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
• Experience in managing financial audits and dealing with external auditors.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
