Financial Controller

Equifind are working with a market leading fintech organisation, who are looking to hire a financial controller for the next 6 months to assist during a busy spell, in the London office.

The business is a brand name in the fintech space and offers an exciting challenge for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic and bustling environment, where no two days are the same.

You will join a great team and become an integral team member from the off, diving right into the thick of things.

Key duties and responsibilities for this financial controller position include:

• Responsible for the month end close process working closely with CFO and wider finance team
• Preparation of the monthly financial reports with additional MI commentary and analysis
• Assist with the preparation of the annual report and accounts, monthly consolidated financial statements and board packs
• Manage overseas audit for multiple branches
• Review and submit the quarterly VAT returns
• Take the lead of multiple ad-hoc projects including system implementations and upgrades, transfer pricing and treasury related projects
• Help design, build and implement a robust financial framework to support and automate our reporting and MI, as the organisation continues to grow and evolve
• Assist with managing and mentoring members of the team to actively train and improve the team

Experience & Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with 5 -10 years PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Experience of working within the financial services sector ideally fintech
• Working knowledge of UK and US GAAP
• Strong excel systems experience
• Knowledge of Netsuite would be beneficial
• Be a real team player and happy to get stuck in
• Have a proactive approach to work

About the business

The business is in the payments space and has grown considerably over the past 5 years. You will be involved in a very dynamic business that will provide you with a varied role.

With offices all over the world you will be joining an international business that is at the forefront of its sector. The finance team has over 15 so you will interact with many on a daily basis.

For this role, you will work closely with a team of financial accountants and be the right hand of the finance director, assisting with the month end reporting, in addition to any ad hoc projects that come up.

Daily Rate

This exciting opportunity for a financial controller will pay between £80k-£115k pro rata for 6 months, depending on your qualifications and industry experience.

We will look at day rate candidates, as well inside IR35.

This role will be hybrid with 3 days in the London office per week but will offer flexibility as and when needed.

There is a real opportunity for this position to be made permanent if everything goes well as the business continues to grow.

To start in the next two weeks ideally, so you must be immediately available or on one week notice maximum.
