This is a fantastic Financial Controller opportunity, directly leading the transactional finance team. The role sits across two sites in a growing finance function of currently 6 heads. The role includes having full responsibility for the financial operations of the business.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent corporate financial strategy through a range of avenues such as managing and allocating accounts, financial statements, and tax data. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Advising the senior management team and board of directors on all matters relating to financial performance.
  • Maintaining a robust financial control and compliant environment.
  • Leading the budgeting, forecast and planning processes.
  • Managing and developing the finance team, transforming them into a high performing and well-respected team.
  • Providing timely and accurate financial reports and performance analysis to all stakeholders (including the board of directors, management and external partners)
  • Ensuring the processing of all financial transactions is highly efficient and accurate.
  • Managing cashflows and ensuring all managers understand and achieve their targeted in order to meet forecasts.
  • Liaising with auditors on the completion of the annual financial statements.
  • Maintaining the relationship with our banks to ensure we comply with terms and covenants and receive the best possible terms.
  • Playing an active role in the senior leadership team to promote best practice and encourage profitable growth.
  • Drive the cost reduction project across the whole business

Requirements

  • Qualified - CIMA or ACCA
  • Prepared to be office based
  • Experience in managing and developing colleagues in a fast-moving environment and taking the team with you.
  • Strong and ambitious with an understanding of strong governance standards in financial management.
  • Ability to communicate key information effectively across to all key stakeholders.
  • A proactive "can-do" approach
  • Comfortable discussing financial principles with non-financial staff
  • The ability to challenge opinions and interrogate company data
  • Experience in analysing large amounts of data and making recommendations following the analysis
  • Demonstrable expertise in improving processes and implementing new ways of working
