Financial Controller

MacGregor Black is delighted to partner with a FMCG business in their search for a Financial Controller. This is a permanent role based in Tipperary.

The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in managing the finance function of a manufacturing site, ensuring correct financial governance, and supporting the achievement of best practices.

Reporting to the Finance Director for Ireland, you will work closely with the Operations Director, site management team, central commercial team, and central finance team to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Finance Director, Operations Director, and site management team.
  • Collaborate with other site finance leads to share and adopt best practices.
  • Partner with senior management to develop growth strategies and improve shareholder returns.
  • Plan and implement working capital targets to enhance cash flow.
  • Provide financial insights on commercial and operational matters to maximise category performance.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation and auditing of financial control information.
  • Maintain financial governance in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Uphold true and accurate financial records and audit trails.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive implementation.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and weekly forecasts, analysing variances, and delivering against targets.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the site finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

What we are looking for?

  • CIMA qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong background in manufacturing finance.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Capable of providing constructive challenges to improve processes and outcomes.
