Financial Controller Opportunity - Slough, Berkshire. Educational Sector. £45k-£55k.

The Role: As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing finance operations and payroll management within the organisation. Reporting to senior management, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organisation. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Overseeing payroll processing and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Leading a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship as needed.
  • Preparing regular financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to optimise financial processes and drive efficiency improvements.
  • Liaising with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

About You: To excel in this Financial Controller  role, you will need to demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Professional accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) are highly desirable.
  • Previous Educational Sector experience.
  • Extensive experience in finance and accounting roles, with a proven track record of success in managing finance operations and payroll functions.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve their goals.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
