Financial Controller

REED are exclusively working with a Poole based Wholesale Company who are recruiting a Temporary / Temp to Perm Financial Controller to lead a team of three including the FC Assistant, Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger Clerk.

The role will require liaising with various branches and liaising with their Accountants, HMRC, solicitors, customers, suppliers and tenants. Please see below further details:

Financial Controller

Temp or Temp to Perm basis

Full Time Hours - Salary £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (hourly rate)

Poole, Office Based (Free Parking Available) - Please note no Hybrid Working Available

Duties include:

• Preparation, review and submission of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliation, produce, prepare & post the following journals per branch: salary, cash & internet sales, rent, depreciation, stock movement, slow report, paypal fees & charges, customer cash discounts, cashbook, supplier rebates.
• Prepayments & accruals for each branch.
• Full nominal ledger review paying attention to correct expense postings.
• Review the fixed assets schedule
• Preparation and completion of the monthly payroll on xero, including pension submissions to l&g
• Bank account reconciliation (excel)
• Quarterly vat returns
• Office for national statistics reports
• Responsibility for 3 accounting members of staff, taking ownership of more complicated sales/purchase issues & enquiries
• Sales, stock, purchase & nominal ledger period close
• File annual returns to companies house
• Daily bank transaction download for trading account
• Download and analyse some branch overhead invoices
• Prepare & completion of p11d’s

Skills:

• Intermediate/advanced excel
• Strong i.t. & systems knowledge
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Motor fleet experience would be advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail
• Xero payroll experience

Qualification:

• CIMA, ACCA, ACA Qualified or Qualified by Experience or an accountancy & business degree.
