This new Financial Controller opportunity will oversee the finance team at very impressive and modern Leeds site!

The role will report directly to the Regional Finance Director as number 2 in finance, and take responsibility for the day to day overseeing of the Leeds finance function.

The site is based in South Leeds, but the business operate hybrid working, working 3 days on the office and 2 from home.

***The ideal candidate will be an established FM/FC with experience working in manufacturing or FMCG, with previous knowledge of SAP (or similar) and SOX***

The key duties of this role include:

  • Lead and manage the finance team.
  • Provide proactive business support and financial analysis to the management team
  • Monthly Management and statutory audited accounts
  • Monthly P&L’s comparison to budgets
  • Monthly balance sheets and Monthly cash analysis
  • Review Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee AP/AR, credit control, banking, VAT returns 
  • Prepare accurate and timely annual financial plans/budgets and monthly outlooks/forecasts 
  • Support the Finance Controller – Compliance UK in maintaining effective internal controls 
  • Support the site management team in the appraisal of new investment proposals
  • Proactively contribute to a continuous analysis to remove or drive down costs and maximise revenues 
  • Proactively participate in the continuous analysis and review of site profitability 
  • Co-ordinate and control regular reviews of debtor and creditor reviews to ensure accuracy of records.

The successful candidate will:
  • Be ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified - Essential
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Financial Controller role - ideally in Manufacturing or FMCG
  • Have previous knowledge of SAP - Desirable
  • Have previous knowledge of SOX and SAO - Highly Desirable
  • Have experience of working to tight reporting deadlines - Highly Desirable
