With a current turnover of £100 million per year for the UK&I arm alone, operating across multiple production sites spanning four continents, they are continuously striving to enhance the sustainability of their supply chain. Central to this effort is their focus on improving the livelihoods of individuals at every level of production, who contribute to the creation of their world-class products. Your Role:

As Financial Controller, you will hold a pivotal position within the UK operations, overseeing financial control functions in alignment with the global operational framework. Collaborating closely with the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for managing comprehensive financial accounting, internal controls, risk management, and statutory compliance. Your duties will encompass leadership in local statutory accounting, audit management, cash flow optimization, and driving process enhancements.

Alongside this, your role will span various operational facets including financial accounting, cash management, internal controls, risk management, financial reporting, internal and external audit oversight, statutory compliance, and stakeholder engagement. You will develop an intricate understanding of the Finance operating model, engaging with a diverse array of stakeholders, both internal and external, as it takes shape.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee compliance with UKI Legal Entity statutory requirements, including local filings and facilitating statutory audits.
  • Lead proactive review and reconciliation of balance sheets for UK and Ireland entities, fostering a comprehensive understanding of actuals, accruals, and profitability.
  • Provide guidance and leadership during month-end close, leveraging support from the parent company's Global Business Services.
  • Lead external audits and lead internal controls as well as upholding a rigorous execution of the hard close process.
  • Strong understanding of the target operating model and ensuring set-up of intercompany service agreements are followed through in accounting and process flows.
  • Generate and assess cash flow forecasts for all UK and Ireland entities, actively driving cash optimization efforts.
  • Drive continuous improvement, optimization and standardisation of the current operating model in alignment with Tax Function.
  • Lead the local statutory accounting and audit processes for UK entities.
  • Ensure alignment with the target operating model, overseeing the establishment of intercompany service agreements in accounting and process flows.

What our Client Would Like To See (Essential):

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 10+ years of experience
  • Big 4 Trained.
  • Strong understanding of internal control frameworks
  • Experience managing both external and internal audits.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in building a team.

What We Would Like to See (Bonus):

  • Experience in SMEs such as FMCG, Retail, or Manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems such as S4Hanna, Power BI, NetSuite, Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves up and get stuck in across finance and have the ability to work autonomously.

Salary: £90,000 - £100,000
