Financial Controller (Charity) - Truro / Hybrid - £50-£55,000

When reading a job advert, what are the key elements that have to work? Remuneration and benefits? Flexibility? Working environment? Well, what if a role can tick all of those boxes and happens to be for an organisation that is genuinely making a real difference to people’s lives?

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have formed a recruitment partnership with one of Cornwall’s best regarded charities; an organisation that makes a real difference. The charity seeks to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to join them in a full time, permanent capacity. The role will be principally based in Truro but our client is very happy to offer a generous hybrid arrangement, with up to three days per week operated remotely.

This is a pivotal role within the organisation and one where the successful candidate will work closely with an existing Deputy Director of Finance, assuming key operational responsibility for the day-to-day success of the finance function. Key features of the role to include:

- Day to day management of the current financial health of the charity and future financial strategy

- Manage a small team of directly reporting colleagues

- Oversee accounts payable function

- Ensure compliance to all relevant reporting standards

- Assist with annual audit

- Management of the payroll function (not administration)

- Responsible for all aspects of VAT.

Think you’ve got what it takes? We’re looking for a passionate, energetic, and down-to-earth Financial Controller with a demonstrable history of success. A professionally qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), you’ll need excellent communication skills and a desire to continue to look for new ways to improve efficiency. Exposure to foreign currency, as well as a solid background in the preparation of financial and management reports, up to date knowledge of accounting standards and budgetary controls are a must. It’s a big job, but a rewarding one, and well suited to a driven FC who cares about their colleagues and likes the idea of working for an organisation which is helping people’s lives.

Interested? Great, I’d love to tell you more. For a confidential, informal chat, or to move straight to application, please contact Jay Vilarrubi-Smith in confidence, quoting reference JVS9825.
