Due to continued profitable growth, they are looking to recruit a Financial Controller/Business Manager with strong commercial acumen to be based at their business in Colchester, Essex.Your new role
The Financial Controller/Business Manager will report into the Managing Director/Business Owner and take responsibility for the financial management and support the Managing Director with the day-to-day general business operations and administration.
The Financial Controller/Business Manager will be a qualified or qualified by experience accountant with strong attention to detail and broad financial and management accounting and cashflow management experience.

  • People management: Operational staff: 11, Office Administration/Customer Service: 3
  • "Hands on" Day to day accounting; accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, fixed assets and trial balance - "XERO" Accounting system (Cloud Base) and Excel and Microsoft Office products.
  • Company secretarial
  • Management of "XERO" Accounting system (Cloud Base) and Microsoft Office
  • VAT returns
  • Review payroll and liaise with the accountant
  • Credit Control
  • Daily cashflow management and weekly reporting
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Budgeting
  • Monthly management reporting; balance sheet, profit and loss, KPI reporting with sales and cost analysis
  • Stock management and accounting
  • Sales costing
  • Managing the fleet
  • Business/fleet Insurance

What you'll need to succeed
The Financial Controller will be a "hands-on" Qualified/Part Qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or by experience Accountant
Strong business acumen
Broad financial and management accounting experience.
Strong Cashflow management and forecasting skills
Adept at producing and presenting accurate, timely monthly management reporting & KPI analysis
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Experienced people manager
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Customer focussed
Broad IT skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office Products, XERO What you'll get in return
The Financial Controller/Business Manager will be offered a salary in the region of £60,000 to £70,000.
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
