An established SME based just north of Doncaster and within close proximity of Rotherham, Barnsley and Pontefract are looking for a Financial Controller to cover a maternity leave for a period of around 1 year.  

Leading the finance function and working closely with the Operations and Managing Director you will manage two accounts clerks and be responsible for the following duties:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the company's budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow projections and ensure availability of funds for operating needs
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including profitability analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and tax filings
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development

The role is available for an immediate start though we are able to wait a little for the right person if you are still in contract, is site based and has secure on site parking.
