Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a proactive accountant to join a growing business with a superb culture as the Financial Accountant at their office near Totnes, Devon. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a key position within the finance function with responsibility for a wide range of financial operations and processes.

Financial Accountant - Duties:

  • Supporting financial operations, analysing performance metrics, and providing actionable insights to drive informed decision-making, acting as the key point of contact for technical accounting expertise.
  • Producing consolidated management accounts, cashflow and balance sheet forecasts
  • Supporting in reporting against projects, cost budgets and business units, and provide other ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Ownership of complex monthly accounting routines, including: cost allocations, accruals and prepayments, internal cost accounting & reporting, working with cashflow/ purchase management.
  • Responsible for external reporting to stakeholders, investors and banks.
  • Supporting Audit requirements and preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Maintaining processes and actively contributing to process development with a 'can do’ approach to problem solving.
  • Monitoring accuracy of financial systems across the business and working collaborative on continuous improvement and best practice to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.

Financial Accountant - The Rewards:

Salary: Up to c£45,000pa

Hours:
Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week with flexible start/finish times.
Location:
Hybrid, minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

Financial Accountant - The Person:

  • This role will suit a proactive accountant seeking a varied role with a fast-paced business.
  • Ideally you will be a part-qualified or qualified accountant, (ACCA or ACA), although applications from individuals who have the relevant finance experience are also welcome. You’ll have recent experience of financial accounting and analysis and ideally some exposure to consolidated accounts.
  • A natural problem-solver with excellent analytical skills you’ll be able to prioritise and meet deadlines in a complex fast-moving business.
  • You’ll be a first-rate communicator able to inspire, persuade and influence as well as business partner internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong IT skills with an excellent understanding of Finance systems, experience of Excel and Power BI are essential.
  • You will be a team player and enjoy working in a collaborative manner with colleagues at all levels in the business.
  • Excellent presentation skills, you’ll be confident creating and delivering reporting tailored to suit multiple audiences including board level and external stakeholders.
