Hybrid Working Opportunity

1 Year FTC

Salary circa £47,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

A superb opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Financial Accountant to work for a prestigious South Wales organisation. Reporting into Financial Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the production of the financial statements for 4 subsidiary companies.

This role is extremely varied and hands on and it requires an individual that is flexible and willing to help out with any task, no matter how small in order to get the job done within the agreed timescales. You will possess an inquisitive nature, be pro-active in approach and have a seasoned background within financial accounts production. Expertise within Tax/Treasury to include cashflow forecasting and tax compliance for the Group would be highly advantageous for this role. The successful candidate will be required to manage and oversee the production of month and YE accounts.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee and produce the month and YE accounts for 4 subsidiary companies within the Group
  • Production of monthly cashflow statements and forecasts
  • Oversee the treasury function in order to deliver a rate of return on assets
  • VAT and Corporation Tax
  • Fixed asset activity
  • Review, monitor and control monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Monthly accruals
  • Manage and lead one member of staff
  • Improvement of internal control system and preparation of policies & procedures
  • Improve processes and systems to make the monthly and YE reporting more efficient
  • Liaising with internal/external Audit teams
  • Attend Senior Management Team meetings to ensure finance are represented

Person Specifications:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • Possess a strong commercial awareness, having operated at this level previously
  • Strong IT skills, having the ability to analyse and interpret data targeted at both financial and non-financial managers
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • 'Go getting’ attitude
  • Flexible and willingness to take on a variety of projects
  • Work both independently and as a part of a team

Working as part of an experienced team, my client is seeking an individual that is self-motivated and has the desire and passion to make this role their own! The Senior Leadership team will be on hand to support and guide you, but they are seeking an individual that is keen to step up and make changes within the role in order to streamline processes and procedures to make the department operate smoothly and efficiently.

This role is being offered on a 1 Year Fixed Term contract basis however, for the successful candidate there is a strong chance that the role could turn permanent prior to the 12-month contract ending.
