NXTGEN have a fantastic opportunity to join a hugely successful and expanding business as Financial Accountant in the offices based near Bury St. Edmunds. This is a high profile role gaining excellent exposure to a range of senior stakeholders within the group, enhancing future development prospects for those who can network internally. As Financial Accountant, you will support the delivery of technical submissions within the business, taking the lead on financial statement preparation for a range of business entities before assisting with monthly and quarterly consolidated reports. You will provide technical support and guidance to others in the finance team, dealing with any FRS 102 or IFRS queries as required. This Financial Accountant role also has plenty of opportunities to drive process improvements, identifying efficiencies and making recommendations to the Group Financial Controller.

Key responsibilities within the role will include:

  • Production of statutory financial statements ensuring compliance with FRS 102 and IFRS
  • Support the Finance Manager with the production of consolidated monthly and quarterly reports
  • Support with the improvement of financial controls with ensure full compliance with SOx requirements
  • Assist with other technical submissions including VAT and corporate Tax returns
  • Support with the continuous improvement program, identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes across the group
  • Play a key role in the annual audit cycle, liaising directly with external auditors as required

The successful candidate will ideally hold a full accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA or equivalent). Prior experience gained within an accountancy firm would be highly desirable. Candidates will require a good working knowledge of UK GAAP and will ideally have experience of IFRS. Any experience gained of consolidated accounts would also be desirable given the complex nature of this group. Given the high levels of exposure this role will have to senior stakeholders, candidates will need to be confident communicating with senior leaders and the executive team. Any experience of corporate tax would be highly desirable but not essential as support and training can be provided if needs be.
