About the role

As our Financial Accountant, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining the accuracy of our financial records. Your expertise will be instrumental in precise journal entries and providing insightful perspectives on our financial performance. You'll take the lead in managing our financial processes related to reoccurring revenue streams within the dynamic retail and wholesale sectors, ensuring the integrity of our fixed assets.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Financial Record-Keeping and Reporting - Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations; prepare and analyse financial reports for management review and assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Revenue Controls Management - Implement robust controls for accurate revenue recognition, monitor revenue recognition policies for compliance; and develop reconciliation processes to validate revenue figures.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable - Support accounts payable and receivable functions, review and verify vendor invoices and purchase orders and coordinate with vendors to resolve billing issues.
  • Expense Management - Utilise expense management tools for efficient reporting, implement digital receipt capture for streamlined expense tracking and analyse spending patterns and trends.
  • Fixed Asset Management - Manage fixed asset register, including acquisitions and disposals, conduct physical audits of fixed assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Financial Analysis and Decision Support - Conduct financial analysis and prepare reports, provide decision support to management, and collaborate with teams to streamline operations.
  • Process Improvement and Compliance - Identify opportunities for process improvement, ensure compliance with financial regulations and document financial procedures and controls.
  • Training and Mentorship - Provide guidance and training to the Finance team, serve as a subject matter expert and resource, and foster a supportive environment within the team.
Core Skills and Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Buisness Administration, or a related field. 
  • Previous Experience in a Finance-Related role - Demonstrated experience of increasing levels of responsibilities across your finance career relevant to this role.  
  • Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel - Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools including Dynamics, SAP and Excel.
  • Analytical Thinking - Demonstrated expertise in interpreting financial data to derive meaningful insights and identify trends accurately.
  • Financial Best Practice - Proven knowledge of financial regulations and best practices in financial management. 
  • Problem-solving mindset - A proactive approach to identifying issues and proposing solutions to improve processes. 
  • Priority Prowess - Can effectively prioritise tasks against urgency and priority for business continuity.
