ARM are delighted to be supporting an exciting manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.

The Financial Accountant's role in the business is to support the Finance Manager with general day to day accounting duties and month end closing.

Responsibilities:

* Lead overheads review and postings on a monthly basis.
* Review payroll and post monthly payroll values to correct nominals, monitoring actual to forecast variance analysis.
* Work closely with commercial and operational management to ensure effective financial controls & risk mitigation in processes.
* Manage the Group Intercompany reconciliation process concerning purchases and sales.
* Monitor reconciliation of all control accounts - Debtors / Creditors and Bank, and associated balance sheets within remit.
* Preparation of VAT returns.
* Ensure timely payment of payroll, VAT, corporation tax.
* Point of contact for the R&D tax credit process.
* Monitor business controls and propose improvements where necessary.
* Actively participate in the new ERP project concerning assets and overheads.
* Interface with external bodies - auditors, bank, tax, lawyers.

Requirements:

* Minimum 5 years relevant working experience preferably within a manufacturing environment.
* Practical experience of Payroll and VAT returns
* Experience of supervising a team desirable but not essential
* Must have excellent Excel skills and be used to working with an ERP preferably EFACS, or Infor LN or an equivalent.
* Result oriented and with strong business sense and able to communicate at all levels as well as challenge the status quo.
* Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
* Fluency in both spoken and written English.
* French language would be a unique advantage.
