Financial Accountant

Our client is looking for a Qualified Financial Accountant to join the team in SW Scotland. The role is reporting directly to the Financial Controller.

You would be collaborating with the European Team who are responsible for the compliance with accounting standards. The other key part of the position is driving the financial reporting and control across the UK legal entities. This is a key role and as such requires a qualified accountant to ensure internal and external reporting is completed on time and to exacting standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Provides technical accounting expertise to the Finance team members and directs the preparation and formal review of local financial reports and statements.
  • Support the Financial Controller with ad hoc reporting and projects as required.
  • Deliver statutory accounts preparation in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Key point of contact for annual statutory and control audits for all UK entities
  • Working with European Shared Service Centre, GL, AR, AP teams for all entities in the UK
  • Responsible for the month end closing of ledgers of entities not supported by EMEA SSC
  • Managing all control activities where the finance department is process owner and that are subject to SOX Compliance

Desirable Skills and Attributes.

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA)
  • Strong technical accounting skills IFRS or US-GAAP
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written.
  • Strong Systems experience ideally Excel and SAP.
