We are working with Bury Council to find a Finance Support Officer on a temporary basis. 

Contract Length: Initial 6 months.  
Start Date: ASAP  
Location: Bury (2-3 days a week in the office)  
PAYE rate: £12.38 per hour.  

We are seeking a proactive Finance Support Officer to join our team on an initial 6-month contract. The role involves supporting our finance staff by providing essential financial information and data. This position is ideal for someone who is adept at processing invoices and has a strong administrative background. Experience with the Unit 4 system is highly advantageous.

Day to Day of the role:

- Support the preparation of financial and performance reporting data.  

- Assist with closedown requirements and support the preparation of statutory accounts.  

- Perform reconciliations as required.  

- Contribute to the completion of returns and reporting on financial and operational performance indicators.  

- Maintain IT systems and provide advice to users.  .  

- Maintain accounting records to a high standard, completing financial statements, grant claims, and returns accurately and within set deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Strong administrative skills.  

- Familiarity with financial IT systems.  

- Ability to plan and prioritise work effectively.  

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards in accounting records.  

- Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
