Full Time Contract ( 8 months long)
Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Finance Officer in Somerset. This is a contract without a scope for extension working full time hours.
The job:
- Producing and analysing outturn forecasts, based on expenditure to date and planned future spending, identifying potential problem areas; carrying out suitable financial analyses
- Providing the service with monthly financial reports on the financial position, to be included in monthly and quarterly budget reports
- Maintaining accurate accounting records for clients, by checking on the reasonableness of transaction coding in the accounts (SAP), amending as necessary
- Analysing current year's expenditure to date, using SAP, to carry out a reasonableness check on outturn forecasts
- Close both revenue and capital accounts at year-end.
The candidate:
- Experience in a similar role within the public sector is essential
- Experience using SAP is essential
- AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable
- In-depth knowledge of financial management including tools and techniques.
