Are you a driven finance professional ready to take on a pivotal role in a rapidly expanding organisation? Sheridan Maine is thrilled to partner with an innovative and dynamic company in search of a Finance Manager to join their team on a temporary basis, with the exciting potential for a permanent position.

As a Finance Manager, you will play a crucial part in driving the business forward, taking real ownership of key reporting requirements and fostering strong partnerships with various departments within the company. This role is not just about crunching numbers; it's about actively contributing to the growth and success of the organisation.

Your responsibilities as the Finance Manager will include and are not limited to:
  • Maintain strong financial controls through ongoing process evaluation.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including management accounts, payroll, and ledger management.
  • Lead a small team, focusing on their professional development.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end reports.
  • Manage cash flow and provide regular financial liquidity reports.
  • Develop budgets, offer variance analysis for decision-making.
  • Oversee financial processes like management accounts and VAT obligations.
  • Handle intercompany accounting and recharging.
  • Coordinate year-end processes and audit requirements.
  • Address client and internal finance queries promptly.
  • Communicate financial performance effectively to management.
  • Provide support on ad-hoc projects.
  • Lead the implementation of new software suites.

To be considered for the role of Finance Manager, you will:
  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Have a strong technical accounting background.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Be ambitious and proactive, with a desire to take ownership and drive positive change.
  • Ideally have experience in a practice environment (ideally for a 2nd move).
